Im going back to real work. Im tired of dd manipulation high AR, punishing you for not accepting constant trash orders, wear and tear, maintenance, depreciation, high taxes and i cant make barely $100 nowdays also stress is through the roof more than ever.

The market is flooded with gig workers and these companies are taking full advantage by offering garbage pay.

You’re wrong on some things, Doordash has seen increased revenue every quarter, with quarter 4 2022 being the highest its been in the last 2 years. So how are less people ordering food? They’re not, they’ve just flooded the market with too many drivers

Yesterday I make $160 in 14 hours. Today I get $36 for 5 hours. I’m done with that.

I've gone hybrid. I'm not in love with w2, but there's something to be said about annual raises, quarterly bonuses, paid time off, and all the other fringe benefits gig work just can't provide. Nonetheless, 30 hrs a week gets the same benefits as 40

Doordash is just dead and awful right now. I was a Doordash only driver for years til last November when I added on Ubereats as well and made more that way, for awhile.... Now I turn down all the trash all day then don't get any offers for an hour or two as a "spanking" I guess and if I make anything at all it's on Ubereats. Right now I've worked 2 hours and made $8.28 off of 1 Ubereats order. The last 2 days I averaged about $8 an hour. This is 2nd job stuff for me but this is the end for me. This is the kind of stuff that makes people lose everything they have and they don't care.

Im curious to see how these app companies adjust and adapt without an endless supply of drivers too ignorant and willing to take the ever growing number of $2 offers. Times, they are a changing.

People keep looking for an easy gig that they can do on their own time. I left in September and never want to go back. My car thanks me.

One thing I noticed about myself is since I have been using DoorDash I have gained alot of weight and it has made me lazier and has shot my food cost threw the roof. It’s addictive and once people start to realize that they are going to stop ordering as much.

Full time but not thriving looking for W2

Customers, including me, are paying for experiences more than things now. The apps can’t deliver those. People just aren’t ordering as much on the apps as they used to, and the apps are still flooding the markets with new drivers. The economy has changed a lot over the past few years. I’ve always been part-time with it, but I just got a raise and a bonus at my W2, so I’m doing this a lot less now.

I still do it part time whenever I can. Even though I have a good paying W2, rent is still high, gas is high, and the bills are still there. Also, taking care of the family with their school stuff, yeah I need the gig work on the side as well

The business model of companies like Doordash wasn't going to last. You could say we have the same pay model of a server in a restaurant but COVID made food delivery a good side gig for the long run while the whole lockdown lasted. Now is about finding more opportunities to thrive in the market cause inflation and the uncertainty of the current economy are part of gig work not being as profitable anymore. Time to learn a new skill, payoff debt and try to invest.

I still make my 150-200 daily only work 7-8 hours. Sometimes I make it in 4-5 hours. Keep the maintenance up on your car and it will take car of u.

I read the article. Like most it was inaccurate. The people going back to work were bad at gig work. People are still lazy and don't want to leave the house people wanting the convienence of not leaving the house will never change or go away. Most retail and food service jobs are paying $13-16 an hour instead of $7.25-$10 that really isn't an incentive tbh

Food delivery might be slowing down so might be good to do the gigs that cater to package delivery and pet apps like Rover

DoorDash does not support their Dashers.

No doubt Door Dash is dead, especially since you can't see the low ball offers on stacked orders since I've updated the app 😂😂. I've been working other apps & side hustles since DD had been oversaturated.

Still booming for me.. hope it picks up for the areas that are slow..
