Lol, pretty sure safety chains aren't needed where you are towing a trailer with a side-by-side...That is EXCEEDINGLY nit picky. I have yet to see an ATV trailer, or UTV trailer (meaning one meant to be towed by ATV or UTV...) with safety chains. They just aren't common, if they even exist.

I've owned a 1000-3 for two years, my family farm has also used a few polaris Rangers, a Gator and a Can Am Defender. My thoughts:
I have seen UTV's with tow chain rings but have never personally used them.
I don't have the same problems with turning radius, it's pretty smart with the shorter wheelbase.
Same goes for storage, those big totes are up under the front seat and there is no second row of people who provide hospitality for.
The dump bed *sucks.* I've seen the latch placed there on other machines, but every other brand we've used has at least had an option for electric actuation instead of the auto hydraulic cylinder, then you can remove the damn latch entirely.
The cab roof water also discharges to the sides and can come into the cab under certain conditions.
I'd add on, the build quality of the cab overall. I have a full cab and, especially compared to Polaris and Can Am, the design and build is just egregious. My grandpa's Ranger 570 has roll-up glass windows, but the Pioneer's window option is this canvas contraption that bolts onto the stock doors with an inner frame that's prone to bending if you push or pull on it to close the door, and a plastic window that opens by unzipping, manually rolling it like a newspaper and fixing it in place with a Velcro strap. For a machine that costs as much as a car anymore it's a loony procedure.

Other than that, fuck, the thing pretty much is a little truck. I regularly tow 1ton+ and have loaded the box at least to nominal cap with field stones. I LOVE the engine and transmission, only complaint is the sheer amount of mechanical noise from all the gearboxes but it's spoilt for power and has enough throttle response from factory it doesn't affect performace. Compared to a belt drive it's enough for me to look past all the jankiness going on inside the cab and say I'd get another one before going back to other brands. YMMV

Thanks for the video. I feel like the only legitimate complaints here are the dump handle maybe and the water on the roof. Turn radius is just par for the course on this type of setup.

Good informaiton, thanks. I've been waiting for Honda to do something other than jump seats for years. I'd like to hear about any transmission or engine concerns in the future.

As for turning radius, it's to be expected.
B you may be able to get rear wheel steering kit

Why don't you do a review and comparison to the Can-Am Defender?

That pain in the hip dump bed handle definitely needs to go along with the roof design. It's proof that even the best companies make big mistakes.

Dude, you forgot hated issue #0.5 The transmission and gearing is terrible. There is no way to drive this thing under 10 MPH without everyone getting sick with how jerkey it is. Yes, fancy cool dual clutch, but it is the worst transmission in any machine I've owned. Who knows, maybe I got a lemon, but my wife refuses to drive it. She thinks she's going to break it. Maybe it's a 1st gen issue I don't know. Plus, the door stops need to be turned just so perfect that the door closes and latches both without rattling around while driving.

What’s your thoughts on dust control? My 1000-5 sucks in soooo much dust!

How about the heat in the center of the back seat

I'm located in central VA and am looking for places to ride without needing to haul my ATV out to the mountains. Any ideas?

The roof is kinda pointless without a windshield

Seats are like sitting on a board, latch for the bed in a HORRIBLE spot, not sure if they ever fixed the heat issue, no factory cab, storage is terrible, etc.. So disappointed in Honda. They are getting left in the dust in the world of SxS IMO. I understand the Honda quality hype but come on it’s time to get onboard with rivaling the CanAm Defender and Polaris Ranger cabbed SxS!!

Just bought me a 2024 1000-5 and I can say there’s nothing I don’t like about it.

No worries about your passenger dumping the bed. If there’s more than 20 pounds in it that pathetic shock won’t lift it😂😂😂
