What Schumann piece did it remind you of?

This gave me many ideas on how to enjoy playing not only this Arietta, but on how to approach many pieces. I am so glad to have joined the Online Academy. I have a a lovely way back into piano now. Thank you very much.

👁️🎹👁️What I'm not capable of doing, and someone else is, can only be exceptional. I'm not judging anyone, I just think so.🤔😃🙏

Thank you. Your comment that the piece sounds unfinished reminded me that Grieg did refer back to it in his final lyric piece called Remembrances Op 71 No 7 - thus, the wonderful Lyric Pieces (all 66 of them) are book-ended by this beautiful little tune.

This was exactly what I needed for this piece as an adult picking up piano again after 10 years. Thank you!

Thank you for your calm, encouraging and comprehensive help with this piece. You’re right - it’s a little gem of a composition. I played it as a kid, and have returned now as a much older adult, and it still delivers great beauty and enough challenge to satisfy my yearning to be learning. I do struggle, though, with getting my right hand little finger to play the singing tune with the sustained volume it needs, (and you play so effortlessly!). When my RH also has to play any melody notes, my little finger can’t seem to play with the emphasis required, if that makes sense. It’s the same volume as say my thumb or whichever other finger is playing. When playing just with my RH little finger, no problem. 🙃
