I love this so much. Not only is her knowledge and reverence of music history so deep, her personality and spunk really shine through. Much like June Carter was to Johnny Cash, her and Jason Isbell make a perfect pair.

1:30 "How did you start playing with him when you were 15?" "He was dead." I cracked up. Hard. Thanks Amanda!

This woman is truly brilliant. Hidden gem. Please y’all bring her out into the light so she can afford to tour Europe again.

I met her after one of her shows, and she just came up and hugged me like we were old friends, and we talked for a good while about writing. She’s whip smart and sweet and authentic and incredibly talented. I love her music. Her last two albums are my favorites of their respective years.

Charlie Brown Christmas is my favorite Christmas album too. It’s so dang soothing and makes me feel warm inside. It’s also highly responsible for making me wanna learn about more jazz. I never get tired of hearing it!

All of Amanda's albums are different and consistently good. Nice to see her chatting in street clothes, just looking like a cool lady from Texas in the record store. She glams it up on stage like no one's business, with a lot of vocal power to go with the songwriting.

Amanda Shires is a truly long-awaited for addition to the canoply of women country voice stylists/artists who embody the grit and soul of what it means to dig deep into the mid-American psyche as it crawls and dances thru the heartland, tears, beers, and train whistles in the night. If I were a music producer, I would put her on stage with Lucinda Williams (another deacon of the country genre yearning for unvarnished truth), between them crooning the right songs to settle my neon dreams. I first heard and saw Ms Shires on NPR's tiny desk concerts with Rod Picott accompanying and immediately was pierced warmly with a new country vibe. Both artists are undervalued and have yet to work thru the huge amount of creative instincts they have awaiting them.

I love her. She is so cute as a human being. Their family is just, genuine.

Have followed Amanda for awhile. She has demonstrated a multifaceted personality which translates to an interesting evolution in her music. Since she aged a little a whole new side of her has emerged that is out and open. Some of her recent personal revelations have been very mind opening about her and her life Lehigh have led to her fantastic new album and persona as she lets it loose live and on stage. She appears to be really enjoying herself and her new phase in life. She is also a very talented artist and story teller. Her, Jason and friends provided great live performances on You Tube during the shutdown which also included interacting with followers on line. The albums she selected to me represent her appreciation not only for real country western music as it was called back in the day but lyrical genius. I have really enjoyed following her. The first time I ever saw her perform was on Austin City on PBS. Blew my mind how talented she is. Thanks for this very enjoyable video.

Amanda is the coolest. Learned about a lot of music here that I am looking forward to exploring. She also made my favorite record of the year. Everything's coming up Amanda!

I now want to hear a duet with Amanda & Harry. We need to make this happen people. Let's start an online petition.

❤ Amanda because I don’t think more fame or $ will change how genuine she is. Her song writing is top tier and her violin virtuosity is next level yet she always acknowledges her fans and appreciates the ❤.
She’s also an incredible artist along with her mother. We are reserving a wall space at home for an Amanda painting.
Hope she returns to Philly because we had the fan package before the show was canceled 😢

Endlessly more fascinating to listen to someone who not only feels but also understands the music, and clearly explains why it's cool. For me, there are two types of "What's In My Bag?" artists: one who teaches you something about music and themselves, and the other who is just showing off what they think you want them to like.
