I Watched The UK's CLOSEST Football Rivalry

Today I travelled up to Dundee to watch the UK's Closest Football Rivalry with both stadiums being separated by 100 metres. A fixture full of animosity & hatred... this one did not disappoint 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Class video, and what a night! We might “hate” each other for 90 minutes, but the most admirable thing about this rivalry (and what many argue makes it better than Celtic v Rangers) is we can enjoy the occasion before and after without any trouble. You go into the pubs before the game and you’ll find Dundee and United fans sat together, both friends and family, who’ll walk down to the ground together then split for the game, then meet up after to discuss the game and harass whoever has just lost.

Another cool tradition is the away team walking up from their own ground before the game, quite often supporters will wait and clap the team past as they make the walk. Life as a Dundee fan can be tough at times, but wouldn’t change it for anything 💙

Coventry fan here, we went to the games at Celtic Park & Ibrox this weekend, also had a look around the Edinburgh & Dundee grounds. Dundee is our favourite City of the three.

If you think it’s hatred mate you didn’t quite get it. Passion and hated are different things. We drink in the pubs together, walk to the game together. shout crap at eachother for 90 mins to eachother. Then walk home together. Dundee derby is not hatred.

Come again and join the fans before the game. That’s the full derby experience.
