This actually surprisingly will go through the story pretty in good depth. It won't be just another "spam deathmatch" kind of online game like most fps's, there will be story, different factions you can join, and 1 day irl is a day ingame so story will unfold as time passes. If you read the Dev Blog #1, it talks a lot about that, you should go to their site and read up on it.

MadCat is designed as a supportive assault. Thanks to it's Missile Racks it can engage an enemy at long range with mutliple barrages of missiles. In Mercs, it was equippable with a Jumppad that could grant you a tactical advantage with the environment. So MadCat is basically the Catapult of Assault Mechs but better eqipped for short range engagement.

You know a buddy of mine actually made a good point that so many of the people defending this crappy game missed.
He pointed out three things:
1. MMO games adapt and modify over time. So perhaps once people get bored they will bring in aerospace or something to "liven it up a bit".
2. Any MMO that is "free to play" is actually "Pay to Win".
3. Any MMO that starts on a F2P basis typically lasts a year or two and overcharge clients to make the quick buck before discontinuing the game.

Örülök, hogy tisztázódott eme félreértés a részemről. Őszinte elnézésedet kérem és szép napot/éjszakát! XD

Well yeah, AI tended to aim there, too. Whenever I played the MadCat in Mercs. But this also exactly why madcat was designded for long-range bragges. The open Cockpit allows better view of the battlefield, enabling the pilot to spot mechs before they notice him. The best strategy would be to get a medium mech to assist you by forcing the enemy mech to focus on him first to get to you. Your job is to blast everything you got into your target until nothing's left.

Im so geeked out The Grey Death legion, Jade Falcon with Aiden Pryde. Finally way to go guys thanks for keeping the game intact and staying true the Mech Warrior Universe.

I'm aware, it happens to be my favorite omni-mech. I was refering to the fact that it's cockpit is huge and exposed, unlike the hardcore mechwarrior fans who know the lore and dishonor of targetting the pilot, many of the people joining a free to play game will be in it to win it. Those prebirths are going to target cockpits, and unfortunately MadCat's cockpit is huge, and not well armored. Meanwhile an Atlas has a somewhat difficult to hit cockpit.

I did not say constantly change, I said that the default variant is just manufacturer recommendation/thinking. Pilots will often reconfigure the 'mech to fit their style better.

It doesn't necessarily mean a faster 'mech, but armament will change. In particular when dealing with a high echelon commanders' class such as the Stone Rhino.

All Assaults are slow, unless you rip them up just to shove a bigger engine in or, worse, put in an XL engine and risk torso-core breach. That's the balance.

My point remains, those are the recent updates, if you read on earlier FAQ's they had no plans for joystick support at the time.

You could say the same about all heavy mechs.
Except the part where the tons of armour prevent that.
And Clan Ghost Bear has never ended. It evolved onto a bigger, better, more powerful form.

avoided the entire conversation due to a typo, good job kid.

You have a point there, the examples I used were a clan mech against another clan mech, and that was MW4 and this is MW:O, so the gameplay might be completely different. My original comment is just that, a hunch that the game might become a completely different MW that has more of a "modern" FPS feel catering to the CoD/WoW generation rather than an old school Battletech game.

Twas an example sir, not to be taken literally. Cause they will of course field other mechs than Stone Rhinos, but even if they know what works for them, battlefields have different requirements. Hot planet, field more ballistic weapons, cold planet use more energy weapons etc.

Yeah I agree. I've been playing a lot of MW4 in anticipation and a difference I noticed is that the cockpit really rocks when hit (you really "feel" the impact)
In this it just looks like you're shrugging the hits off

In reality, its technically deeper gameplay wise then the other games. Especially now that you can aim your fixed and arm weaponry differently.

Btw, the game is in open beta so you can try it out yourself. They really did not dumb it down at all. And this is coming from a MW2/MW4 player.

Can we get some Specs needed to run it?
I know I probably need an upgrade cause the Cryengine 3 SDK.
Still a bit of chop with an older quad core.

i really hope in the future that they add battlefield damage. It'd be nice to sweep a line of trees for an unhindered view of the enemy mech.

Finally, a reason to mount weapons on the arms in a MW video game!

Its was not "originally" called Timber Wolf. "Timber Wolf" is the Clan Name for that particular Mech, while "Mad Cat" is the Inner Sphere Name.
Vaguely resembling a cross-over between the MAD (Marauder) and CAT (Catapult) series, the Timber Wolf was tagged with the Inner Sphere reporting name Mad Cat on first contact. (The targeting computer on Phelan Kell's Wolfhound' switched between MAD and CAT when trying to identify it.
