Weird video request, sunscreen.

Like how does a thin translucent/transparent cream prevent sun from damaging our skin? When did it come to be and was it specifically made for its sunscreen purpose or was it a happy little accident? What were some ancient versions of it?

Yes I can Google it but I like Simon teaching me things.

Futurama clearly stated in the first episode that nuclear winter and global warming cancelled each other out.

So an arbitrary measure of an undefined list of events with a random baseline.

Problem with the clock is that it's like having 1 gauge in your car to tell you everything at once...and it gives a single number...that just doesn't work.

Last time I was this early, Simon didn't have 50 channels and a beard.

When it gets to 5 seconds to midnight I'll be concerned, for we are always at 1 minute from total destruction.

I think we need more doombsday clocks that specifically focus on different factors that all add into the main clock

does anyone find it funny that Pandora is critiquing the doomsday clock?

I'm currently 44 but when I was younger I always wonder what the Iron Maiden's song 2 minutes to midnight meant. That song dates back to 1984, right in the era where the clock was almost to 2 minutes to midnight. Great song by the way.

I knew of the doomsday clock before this, because it was the basis for the title of the history book covering the Cuban Missle Crisis titled _One Minute to Midnight, _ after the time the clock likely would have updated to they did so during the crisis.

OMG I saw the picture of Eugene Rabinowitch and almost thought appearance wise Tom Hanks could pull it off

I thought that in 1962 there was a very real fear that any second the nukes would be launched and you might not even wake up after going to bed at night, but according to the clock, we were closer to doomsday in the 80s. I might be being stupid here, but is there something I've missed that happened in the 80s? How could it possibly be closer to doomdsday.

Sounds more like a challenge than a warning for someone who never intended to abide to prevent it.

It seems like gain-of-function research owes some seconds of doomsday clock time.

Very interesting thought. I wonder what it will take to bring sanity to our world. However, I am fully aware that stubborn attitudes and greed tend to lead to bigger problems.

And so we are probably going to go through destruction before we get any better.

May God bless us with peace.

So.... the best things have EVER been (since the creation of the Doomsday Clock) is 420 seconds to... whatever. 'til we turn into a pumpkin, I guess. In light of that, 100 seconds isn't as drastic as it would seem.
