C.S. Lewis, The Abolition of Man

Показать описание
By having rejected the idea of humanity’s moral nature, Lewis argued that modern educators must inevitably go on to do bad things to people, even while dismissing the category of evil.

The chief of what “the Conditioners” will do is to appeal to “nature” to use it to reduce mankind from persons bearing the image of God to experimental objects.

Man’s conquest of nature through technology has actually resulted in nature’s conquest of man. And thus we live in a posthumanist age.

I am a traditional Muslim. I agree with this lecturer, and his lecture is extremely beneficial.. What he says is found in Muslim traditional teaching. I recommend non-Muslims to watch the videos of Umar Faruq Abdallah, Hamza Yusuf, and Abdulhakim Murad.

You're really dialing in these arguments. Will you be teaching literary theory this semester?

I wanted to mention the wildfires are very much because we planted the wrong trees and introduced foreign species to those areas. A better argument would be how we as human built food forests throughout America, though few are very aware of what is around them. Nature was well kept by the natives, or as well kept as they knew. It's our assumption that nature was also so well kept that many miss though. It is true though that many trees only can grow through the use of fire, so fire is a good way to help nature thrive under certain conditions.

Question:
How does one go about teaching themselves “moral law” via books? If you can, may you please provide some books to read, for adults and children alike? Thanks
