Motion under a central force field takes place in a plane, so the trajectory of the moving particle is a plane curve. The equation of this orbit is a second order differential equation in terms of polar coordinates. Taking the fact that in a central force field transverse acceleration of the particle is zero and the total acceleration is equal to the radial acceleration, this equation has been obtained.
