Показать описание
An intermediate cajon lesson and training session that helps you learn and practice basic rhythms and more styles of grooves in a simple, step-by-step way. Each cajon beat is a very slight evolution of the previous one so that soon, you'll be able to play through the whole 34 minute exercise with ease!

I'll play you each groove at a medium tempo and you can control the speed for your own practice. Go extra slow for your first session. When you think you've mastered the grooves, try increasing the speed bit by bit.

Hi Ross, I'm really enjoying practicing with your grooves) Thank you so much for sharing your skill and knowledge! It would be so nice to have a list of songs/music to go with your beginner and intermediate grooves for practicing, perhaps combined in one video, at least for some of these grooves 😊

so awesome! First half reminds me of typical "Western" beats in Rock/Pop, etc. - but where does the inspiration for these last few come from (where the beat starts with two "silent" strokes?

Would it be possible for you to do a like a beginner’s film guide in this style? I’m working through your beginner to professional playlist and I think it would be neat for a beginners fill guide to follow this video. Thanks 🙏

Love this video, excellent grooves and excellent playing! The Cajon also sounds great BTW. How did you position the Audix D6 and I5 for these recordings?

Hey Ross, thank you for your great and inspiring tutorials!

I have a question regarding your metronomes. I noticed that in earlier videos you used a Tama RW 30, nowadays you seem to use a Boss DB 90. For which reasons did you change? Do you still use the Tama?
I use an old Korg Beatlab and I don‘t like the harsh sounds at all, so I am looking for an alternative. DB 90 would be quite an investment though …

Keep on the great work!

Hi Ross. I'm 56 and want to protect my back while playing cajon. I can use good posture, but do you have any thoughts regarding tilting the cajon? I've seen tilt stands, or people just tipping the cajon on the back two feet. I'm wondering if this diminishes the bass tones, or if you think it can help one's back health to tilt the instrument? Thanks! Bryan.

Groove 16 sounds like the start of Michael Jackson's "Beat It"
