Guests will be better off on the inaugural cruise having two preview sailings first. There are always issues on an inaugural cruise. Those issues can be significantly reduced if they can work out kinks in a preview cruises.

Funny thing i got a cruise date for August 20. I just booked it earlier this week with my casino comp. That one will be a 3 day one. So I guess I be the first now

We’re excited to be on the 31st! We did icon inaugural and had a magical time. Hoping to recreate it! I just hope all the vloggers are still on our cruise. It was a highlight to meet so many on icon :) Wendy

I understand these people being mad. I would be, too. However, they do usually have a preview sailing, so they shouldn't have expected to be the first voyage on the ship. Also, i dont know the inns and outs, but maybe the builder can't just keep it there until RC needs it? Where would RC store it if they didn't add the showcase sailings? Maybe they dont have a choice. I'm sure it can just be tethered at port canaveral for 8 days, and maybe the builder will charge them storage fees to not take early delivery? You have to look at it from both sides.

We did the FIRST cruise on the Vista out of NYC. I can understand why the people that paid for the FIRST would be a bit upset about it. I would NOT cancel or anything like that!

Considering what happens with inaugural cruises - the issues - I think this is a great idea. I think they have made every option available. Either way, too expensive for me. Thanks and have a great cruising year. My next scheduled cruise is the Allure of the Sea in 2026.

Perhaps the booking for Inaugural Cruises should be revamped. It should be a tentative date with flexibility assuring those who book the inaugural sailing will be assured they have first option to confirm the sailing date when the Cruise Line is given a firm delivery date.

It sure sounds like they are still getting the inaugural sailing they planned for, to me. "Showcase sailings" are a norm in the cruise industry. They usually open up a sailing for travel agents and VIPs before the official inaugural, so I don't think people really have much to be angry about. It's a soft opening, which any company would be crazy to skip! Heck, on the "inaugural" sailing of Jubilee, it was obvious others had been in our cabin before us, as there was already a stain on the couch. I agree with others who say it's a benefit to let them work out the kinks prior to the "inaugural" sailing. This is a first world problem. Wow, if people are truly bent out of shape over this. I was really hoping and wishing the Star was coming to Texas. I really thought it would because of the huge RCCL pier and terminal investment. Oh well, I'm really not a fan of 4 night cruises on massive ships, anyway! 🛳

It's not personal, it's business. Big ship need big revenue. Sorry, shareholders wants economic not an idle ship
