not sure if you already know this, but pressing SHIFT + F puts you in a kind of FPS Camera mode, from there if you press TAB (i believe) you can turn on the gravity and walk around in your house. just adds to the immersion and is kinda fun! :D

also if you press SHIFT + ALT + Right Click you can select faces/edges/verts in the opposite direction (i.e horizontal instead of vertical)

You can isnert mulpitle faces individually at once, just press "I" two times.

another quick tip, to hide only a selected face you can press SHIFT + H instead of selecting then CTRL + I then H. just a different way of doing it :)
