How I got lost on the Oregon Trail in Nebraska. The Oregon Trail was a 2,170-mile east-west, large-wheeled wagon route and emigrant trail in the United States it connected the Missouri River to valleys in Oregon, traveling through Nebraska, Wyoming and idaho, and today I am road tripping the route through Nebraska to see some of the main historical markers. This was the real life for pioneers traveling west in the 1860's.

Stops on the trip:
Loess Bluff National Wildife Refuge
Indian Head State Park
Lincoln, NE
California Hill
Chimney Rock
Scots Bluff National Monmument.

Just a fantastic video. Great Jeep, BTW. :) A great mix of vlog, documentary, cinematic landscapes and information. Fascinating topic and I'd love to follow that route one day. Wonderfully edited too. I'm really surprised this channel doesn't have hundreds of thousands of subscribers yet.

If that's chimney rock behind you, our family had a cabin with 500 acres out there. The trail runs across the property. I loved digging stuff up.

Thanks for sharing Alice, great video! NW Nebraska is underrated. I hope you can get back there someday and check out Chadron State Park, Fort Robinson, and Toadstool! Love your videos! Sorry about your drone....

Not sure where you went after Fort Laramie, but virtually right in Guernsey, WY, there are a couple of great Oregon trail remnants. The first is emigrant cliff, which is just south of the river and has many names carved in it. Then, only about 1 mile away is an area up from the river valley where all the wagons went through and the wagon wheel ruts are carved down into the limestone and still there and intact for quite some distance. You can keep heading on then and the road hits I25 shortly depending upon where you are heading.

Since you're not too far away, I thought I should mention that Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain Nat Park just opened. It's incredible scenery when it first opens and there's still lots of snow up there.

Great video Alice! I remember riding through Nebraska as a teenager and remembering only cornfields. I have also found getting off the interstates and driving the back roads you can find the hidden gems. Looking forward to your stay in Mexico. Stay safe.

So much of this trail was used by the Donner Party I believe. Absolutely beautiful.

You handled losing the drone better than I ever have when I lost any of my drones. A little tip that I give folks is that I have a personal articles insurance policy with State Farm that covers all of my drones and camera equipment that has full replacement with $0 deductible and they will replace the drone even if you can’t recover the drone (unlike DJI). Let me know if you have questions, but I cover my MacBook, Sony a6400, GoPros, canon and 3 drones for $70/year. And sorry about the loss but it happens to all of us. 🙏🙏

How do you get to travel so much all over the country and world each year?! I know you mentioned being a stuntwoman for film, but your videos are all over the country and world, which makes it seem you bounce around places on a weekly/monthly basis! I used to travel alot all over the world, but have focused on more things at home last couple years. So much I'd like to do, just not enough time it seems!

Loved the video. While in Fort Laramie did you go to downtown Laramie to the vegetarian/vegan restaurant Sweet Melissa's?

I just found the channel yesterday, and this is my second video. I think its cool your out exploring. This could have been several videos, each video about a separate part of Nebraska wagon tracks, bluff, and then wildlife refuge. I had a little feedback though. Your videos have some nice footage, and I think its a cool channel. I never see videos about Nebraska so that caught my eye, when I was looking for new stuff to watch. Hearing about the drone crash into a national monuments however, upset me, since it makes me think of all the etrash that is ending up in these beautiful places from irresponsible drone flyers. Maybe you did not think about it, but its not funny to trash a monument. Please let the park know where you crashed it so they can remove it. If your flying drones, do so only if you would be able to retrieve it. It's not worth the shot, to have your drone end up as trash on a beautiful peak, that some poor climber from the park service now has to risk life and limb to remove. I am a pack it in pack it out type of explorer, so I get upset when I see that happening like its nothing, whether its a wrapper on the ground, someones tp, or any other trash. Maybe you already did tell them, but its not evident, as you were more concerned with your drone insurance not the monument talking about it. Thats my 2 cents on it.

What would you choose to ford the river or face snakes, illness and death on the longer journey around the monuments on the other side of the river? #oregontrail

I traveled this part of the Oregon trail in June 2012. It took me five days. There is so much to explore.

Thank you so much for the video. I traveled that route many times with my boys on our way out to camp at Yellowstone and Grand Teton NP. Great job describing what you saw. You gave me great memories. We always stopped at Windless hill and Ash Hollow. I think both places are worth the extra time. I look forward to watching more of your videos. Thanks --
