It's 8 years ago now, but I sold my house - a 3 bed semi - in 4 days. The agent put their sign up on the Thursday, and I had an offer on the following Sunday, from the second person to view it. The housing market in my area ( Southern Lake District ) has been extremely active ever since then. A development of new houses in the village I moved to (106 houses in all) seem to be selling as quickly as they are finished. Some are sold as they break ground while being Many properties in and around the Lakes are selling for *more* than the asking Some estate agents here get so many enquiries to view properties, they have to turn down some requests to view. The bungalow I moved to is now valued at £100k + more than I paid for it in 2014.... Not that it matters, as I'm not selling.

You wouldn’t believe have quickly bungalows are selling in my area at the moment (North West U.K.) we are talking less than 5 days until SSTC. I believe the supply of bungalows is so restricted and demand is growing year on year they are excellent investments. I hear both young families and older downsizers are competing with each other but the downsizers tend to be more cash free and likely to outbid younger buyers. It’s a often overlooked niche area in property
