One possible reason why Capt. Marvel is a month before Avengers 4 is it might be possible for people that watched Avengers 4 to go to the theater to watch Capt. Marvel if the film is still in the movie houses at the same time that End Game is showing.
My prediction concerning Avengers 4 End Game is that Scott Lang left the quantum zone about 5 years after he had entered it but that he hasn't realized that the decimation had occurred or that no one has told him yet about the event. I heard the rumors that Tony Stark would likely be rescued by either Capt. Marvel or Miss Potts through a special suit that she has.

This trailer is perfect. Shows the Avengers broken and lost. Shows the human side of the heroes before they come together to save the day. The trailer is all doom and gloom and then right at the end comes to light with Scott showing up which to me is them showing he and the quantum realm is the key to returning everything back to normal.

Towards the end in scotts video in the top left it appears to say "stark 1983 archive" im thinking scott got sucked into a time vortex like the original wasp warned him about before he went into the quantum realm, im also guessing that if scott gets stuck in the past then its possible that younger hank pym helps scott get back to his time when he realizes hes telling the truth considering he has the quantum tunnel in the van as proof
