The Assassin's Creed Shadows Drama Is Getting INSANE...

It's anything but a simple delay, my friends. Ubisoft is in big trouble and it feels like Shadows may be a do-or-die release for them at this rate.

Ubisoft went from making bangers like Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, AC2, AC Brotherhood, etc. to worthless slop. They deserve their fall. Very unfortunate.

Ubisoft stock is at $2.00 right now. 3 years ago it was at $80. Ubisoft as a developer/producer might go bankrupt.

They did this to themselves. Never listened to their fans, pandered to an audience that doesn't play games, hired people with very questionable qualifications, insulted their game fans, saying get used to not owning games.

I could go on, but that's more than enough to understand their issues.

As sad as it is, Ubisoft is finally getting what they deserve. Years of printing soulless games are finally catching up to them. Their games have become a punch line of, and a caricature of everything wrong with the industry. And the fact that one of their CORE FOCUSES going forward is going to be games as a service just proves the wrong people are calling the shots.

Ubisoft missed their chance. A good Assassin’s Creed game set in Japan has already been done and it’s called Ghost of Tsushima.

I’m a little bit left of centre, not extreme on the political spectrum in any way. IMHO all of these companies need to study Mass Effect 1 through 3 on effective ways to bake in progressive messaging without pandering, without being too on the nose, and without speaking down to their players (if this is what they want to do. I also support devs like Ken Levine who makes games from a more libertarian/conservative perspective as long as “the message” isn’t taking priority over fun).

Aside from the drama, looking at the gameplay and trailers, they really have been slacking with this game. Naoe's parkour is god awful. she spends seconds longer on moves that takes all other AC games half as much time to do and the animations and traversal is visually more smooth. even liberation looked better and it was a vita port of AC 3. Also that last trailer had the moonwalking horse which was just embarrassing and some of the animations were not fluent and snappy. Also the time period looks inauthentic from multiple inaccuracies. Like what happened to the studio who's replication of France was so accurate, that they used their model of the Notre Dame to rebuild it. Even their tertiary merch for the game is rough. Ubisoft needs a reality check.
