im currently making the full undertale game in scratch im making the intro. how do i make a new text come up when it switches to the second panel of the intro, i hope you get what im talking about

How do I add new characters? I can't do that, even following the standard of fantasies, characters like "ç" and "ã" don't appear either in the text or in the variables, even though they're in the same font as the letter. It's like the game doesn't accept these characters, is there any script that blocks them?
