We definitely need more. Build at least double the number we have now, and the many support ships that go into a carrier battle group. If we had 20 ford-class carrier battle groups, I would think that would be adequate. Anything less is stretching it too thin.

He's missing how many Essex carriers we still have in service so we really have a number of 20 carriers still in service.

Sorry, but there's not going to be 14 CVNs, as they are retiring Nimitz class carriers at a 1 for 1 ratio. However, the US does have Amphibious Assault ships which carry helicopters and the F-36B, though in limited numbers.

Historically, the US has entered every war before Korea behind militarily. Given world situation we can't afford that. We need strong forces in all branches.

Wrong. The reason why is because it allows the US to enforce freedom of navigation of the trade routes which promotes confidence in the US dollar reserves and petro dollars. It’s all about keeping the USD on top.
