Telescopes really blow my mind. I'm no dummy, but it just baffles me that something sitting on the Earth's Surface can get images from that far away.

It's fascinating how ingenious scientists are, not only in their specific fields, but how they develop unique ways to study their fields. The restriction on telescope time forced these astronomers to consider the best way to detect the chemicals of life.
