Kinda of surprised you didn’t use a water portion to prevent the substrate getting drenched. Curious if there’ll be any mold, but I’d be more wary of water quality than anything. With the water cycling through your substrate as it trickles down, it’s gonna pick up a ton of tannins and might go bad from feces with no way to separate the soil and water. I made this mistake with a setup once and the smell made me regret it after only a week. Hope it works out for you though, the scape is cool.

Some substrate and clay pushed over the back wall and then covered in cushion moss would be amazing.

But where does the water come from, i just got the kit, im really confused, theres 1 pipe that attaches to the motor, i was expecting an intake pipe as well on the pump, instructions are definitively not clear how to pump water

That foam is toxic. It is complete poison.
