when bad things happen to you, you must become wise, not bitter.

My childhood was horrible, every kind of abuse you can imagine. I was told daily I was worthless and will never make anything of myself. The day I finally walked away, I told him watch me. I refuse you to have any more control of my life. I wasn't going to be a victim, I was a survival. I am now 60 years old and I am so proud of myself, 30 years of marriage until he just recently passed away, I work hard to have the wonderful career I had, and how many people respect me for what kind of person I was, and was the office CEO OF one of the largest medical Center in the state I raised my 2 children and now enjoying my grandchildren and feel so blessed for my life and I know I am enough.

I always said to myself, I wasn't them and my body would never be used to hurt another. Instead I throw myself into care, been a shoulder to cry on, been people's lift out of dark and gloomy places, hands that have held theirs when needed and so on.

I choose to be better than those that hurt me. They never truly broke me and never stole away my innocent. I have been told so many times I have a beautiful soul.

I had some horrible things happen to me throughout my entire childhood. If I could forget my childhood, I would. But, I wouldn't change anything. If anything, these experiences gave me an very resilient mindset. I often get told I'm very calm and collected.

I was my own mother and my own father. I was sometimes a father to my little brothers too. Often heavily neglected, blamed and abused (mentally, physically and once sexually). Often being told to kill myself and much worse.

What helped me was my desire to achieve. I gave myself small objectives with realistic goals. I began to understand WHY these things happened. Which in turn, helped me to stop blaming myself.

Due to this, in my early 20's, I was incredibly messed up and often misunderstood by friends/colleagues/partners. I spent a long time in these years, discussing, understanding, researching etc... Why things happened to me during my younger years.

What I did was get out of my comfort zone. I slowly started challenging myself more often (boxing, martial arts, weightlifting etc). Learning new things. Creating new goals. Understanding more about myself as I grew older.

I have NEVER hurt anyone (unless in defense). I have NEVER taken my past out on any partners. I will never abuse anyone either.

We are a product of our surroundings. I wholeheartedly stand by this.

I personally believe people's biggest weakness is...

Procrastinations. Accountability. Critical Thinking.

Anyway, I'm waffling. Have a great weekend. 🙂

When I was a child my dad was evil. I watched him as I grew up and always looked at him as an example of how NOT to live my life.

I have found that it is far greater to do good than to continue in the evil committed against me. I hated the hurt!
I have forgiveness for those who hurt me.
I pray for them. My choice, no matter what, is to do no harm. Love Wins!!

"Overcome evil with good" and "break the cycle" are often hard to practice, but grieving our losses and focusing on our own right choices and actions going forward is better for us than either repressing or responding in anger and bitterness.

That is a nice suit. Very unconventional and bold.

The most satisfying thing of breaking through experience of darkness is remaining strong in self and staying true to who you are versus becoming just like the ones that torment others.

I don't have much in my life. Alcoholic father who hates me, a mother who doesn't care, not many true friends, no girlfriend or a wife, not much money or looks. But the only thing I have is I have never been excited by bad things. I hate being bad even though I feel I was given a bad deal. All I pray sometimes is for some words of encouragement but I will not get it. I only thank God for my moral fortitude

Understand what he is saying. You never forget the abuse from your childhood. Had a dad that was physically & emotionally abusive & a mom that enabled. If you hold on to bitterness it destroys you. Realizing their conduct was about them helps where it comes from. Those who aren't loved can't give love. It gives me peace knowing I am a child of God & will be in Heaven one day with my Saviour Jesus.❤

Live by these words, and I fit the description. There is no Good that comes from joining the ugly in the world. He is such a beautiful soul
