Get a set of ear pods, answer the phone continue working. If you’re in the middle of doing something noisy like vacuuming or polishing, figure out a good place to call that customer back but answer the phone and ask if you can call them back in x minutes, and then do that! It builds trust on your word before they have even met you!

I have been detailing over 20 years and have told many detailers the same, if you are over booked you are doing something wrong as an entrepreneur. You need to expand and bring wait times down. If you are overbooked and financially can not expand to cater to demand than you are definitely under charging. Great advice for new detailers and refreshing as a veteran to receive confirmation. Good day Sir.

Deposits or trust a new client?
I booked for tomorrow morning and they canceled.
I feel like they don't have respect or commitment unless a deposit is taken.

Well how do you tell the price to people who are cheap or don't see the value in detailing because they got it cheaper before? It seems that alot of people think this way, including other business owners.

Great advice Yvan. I kinda expected the work-life balance to be on the list. I recently got a lot more selective about the jobs that I take and my family and I are so much better off now.

I feel like I do a lot of extra walking around grabbing this grabbing that when I’m detailing. I’ve been thinking about wearing some kind of work waist thing to hold tools.

Hi Yvan, You said to aim for at least $120 an hour but obviously you wouldn't do a ceramic coating that takes the 4 hours hours or less for $480. When pricing jobs to customers what is the most effective way to approach this? Never mention an hourly rate and just charge by the job only? Thanks

Great video Yvan and I'll just hit 2 points. Detailers should aim for proficiency and you mentioned this. Give the same service vut reduce time. How is this? Chemical knowledge and equipment really as I've found. Reviews? I've seen people worry about a bad one. Well in most cases can see the reviewers past ones and a person wanting a service can see thru a bad review.

I own the only detail company within 35 miles. I'm always booked a week out. Even with 2 employees. You made a good point about the hourly rate got me thinking.
