Our IB Coordinator, Mrs Taylor, talks about everything you need to know about the IB program at Lillian Osborne High School.
• If you can be sure you will get the grades you need for the University program of your choice
• Take as much as you can handle!
• The academic skills will prepare you best for anything

• Rigorous – outside of your comfort zone
Full IB Diploma
• 6 subjects (3 at HL)
• EE
• TOK
• CAS
1 course from each group – these are the subjects we offer
Example for well-rounded – humanities student
Example for science focus student
IB Core
• EE – 4000 word essay on topic of your choice
• TOK – how you know – what you know
• CAS – creativity action service
Partial IB
• Any number of IB courses

Sample grade 11 schedule
• Some need to take 8.5 courses is they choose IB physics in place of IB chemistry
• Extra 3-credit courses (Works in Trans 35, Bio35, Phys 35, TOK 25)
Sample grade 12 schedule
• EE is out of class – integrated with TOK
• Extra 3-credit courses (Chem 35, International politics35, TOK35, EE35)
Will there be more work?
• Different type of work – more sill-based - stretches your mind•
Will my marks be lower? No
• Learn more but tested the same
Why take IB?
• Develops the whole person (not just learning more facts)
• better prepared for university – better academic skills
Studies show that IB students have greater success at University than other students
Universities recognize the program
• Advanced credit for many IB courses (HL and some languages)
• Unconditional acceptance based on predicted grades
