Well I just scored a free general mechanic toolkit full of Wright Tools brand new. Shit I’m a happy as hell. My 1/2 ratchets from wright is priced at $72 which to me is insane. Shit I go to Walmart and buy hart tools and basic stuff. Can’t afford snap off.

I literally did this a week ago, but it was a craftsman

Honestly, I would go Icon over snap on all day. Not because the quality is better (no one actually knows if it is, or isn't), but because you can walk into a HF and swap it out. Almost as convenient as a tool truck. For someone operating an independent shop like you, that's what I would do. Don't have to wait to mail it back, like you would with gearwrench, tekton, oem, or others.

now ya gotta wait a week for the truck to come by to replace it. I don't use any snap off rip off tools in my shop. waste of money.

Uh well it's an 8mm socket, what did you expect to happen when you are cranking on a rusty old bolt? Many other manufacturers tools would have broken way sooner than that one!

They're not. It's the fact that you get the truvk to come to you to swap it out. But you can do the same thing with autozone sockets

to be fair to snapon their sockets hold out pretty good generally, should do for the stupid pricing though lol.
ergonomics of snapon sockets suck and part of reason never a big buyer of snapon tools as too much slippery chrome bling & not enough innovation in current global tool world .
MAC done some better, Koken are nice & better end taiwan nice, older gearwrench sockets good effort and dirt cheap with half price or bogo deals all the time.
I not tried ICON sockets as simply not need any and they snapon copy thus same ergonomic issue but for a sale price I would try a set if needed .
I got some carlyle & my Napa will drop a tool in with a parts drop off any day & that better service than a tool truck lol .
Have fun with the warranty ...

Why we have the warranty incase of things like this happen never know if it's manufacturing or quality control or if its the tool itself hope no skin was rip

There's no sense buying sockets from Snap-On. You're better off going to Menards, Home Depot, or the hardware store.
