Показать описание
In Florida, the court clerks will give you the forms and help you through the process of doing your own divorce if there are no minor children and if you don't own any real estate together.
Adele: I got married to this man in 2002 and we were married for two weeks. I was over-the-road truck driver and he was stepping out on me and I left him. He wants me to pay for the divorce. It’s been 14 years ago and he’s had a couple few children, that he wants me to pay for the divorce.
Attorney Tom Olsen: Adele, do you mean the lawyer's fees and the filing fees for the divorce?
Adele: Yes. He wants me to pay for it even though he was stepping out on me.
Attorney Tom Olsen: Adele, do you have any children together?
Adele: No.
Attorney Tom Olsen: Adele, do you own any real estate together?
Adele: No.
Attorney Tom Olsen: All right. Adele, good news for you and that is this: is that here in Orange County I suspect in Brevard County as well, there are do-it-yourself divorce forms that will be given to you for free by the divorce court. Adele you in this situation because you have no children together, because own no real estate together, you qualify for a do-it-yourself divorce. Just head down to the Circuit Court Clerk at the Family Law division, ask them for the forms. Adele that’s only going to leave you paying the filing fee and to me that is a very small price Adele for you to get out of this rotten marriage with this man who was stepping out on you. Sounds like a country song.
