I noticed some improvement in the scheduler. Every weekend I run the update of my VMs and while I do those updates, I play my music running my Windows XP VM. In 22.04 LTS VM Host I had to increase the priority of the XP VM to avoid stuttering of the music. In 24.04 LTS, that is not needed anymore, the Host OS starts threads with low CPU usage before its starts the more CPU demanding threads. Smart and I wish I thought about it, when I designed a scheduler in 1976 for 16-bits mini computers :) Like 22.04 LTS we used within the same priority level; first queued for the CPU, first to go (FIFO), it would have been better to keep the queue sorted on CPU demand in the recent past. We had a counter to do it :(
