Driving a 12lac car in India is NOT same as
Driving 40k$ Tesla in Amrika 😅😅

But you are not getting the same quality of life. In the US its possible to earn 100k in tier 3 city where rents are significantly lower. In India, very hard to make 23 lac in a tier 3 city.

Working in US doesn't help build wealth IF you live there for the rest of your life. The trick is to work there for 5-10 years, save as much money as you can and then return to India (or other Low income countries). You'll be crazy rich and wouldn't have to work again IF you don't have a ceazy lifestyle.

PPP works on consumption not income. Individual baskets may vary drastically. If someone is making 100k in the US but spending only 40k, so ppp would apply to 40K only. The rest of the money will be savings. So, comparing lifestyle should not count income but individual consumption only.

I still don't get what calculations go into coming up with this number. PPP comparison should be at city/town level.
US cities like New york and San Francisco are significantly expensive than smaller towns.
Likewise big cities in India like Mumbai/Bangalore are significantly costly than rest of the country.
In smaller cities of US, one could get salary of $100k and could even get a decent 2 bed apartment at $200-250k.
So house price is 2-2.5x of salary.
In India though, considering salary 30LPA(which is much higher than average), the price of a 2bhk apt in Mumbai is 2cr. which comes nearly 7x of salary. I think home prices are not considered in calculating PPP

Most people don't appreciate India enough and think that first world countries are a paradise, take for e.g:
1) Serious crime is very low in India when compared to the big cities of the West.
2) Family culture and values.
3) Fresh, tasty food.
4) Drug, disco culture is not prevalent.
5) Weather in India is amazing.

Why you forget if he/she will save 10% it will be 8L where as in india it will be 2.3L. So, technically one working in india wont be able to match the life style of someone working in USA. They will come in india and buy bungalow and you will be living in rented 1bhk

Only missing thing is - Definition of “good”. US has a much higher standard of “good” compared to India, so your card, TVs, clothes etc could be higher quality in the US for same budget range.

The number of people who are not aware of this is shocking, so many of my well paid friends in India left for pastures anew, only to realise the salary was not really an upgrade, it was a down grade in some cases, if you’re moving to the USA please do your due diligence and research, location of the job and where you live is a huge factor in understanding how much you’re getting paid to how much expenses are needed for a comfortable living.

10 year old parity rate conversion.. If you consider latest and realistic it should be around 50LPA (with 35+ base/fixed)

Incorrect. It will work if you are spending all your salary. Consider savings. You need around 50LPA in India.

Absolutely correct, staying in USA since last 10 years

If you are single earner earning 30L in India there is no point to come to USA,

Visa, it’s renewal costs, travel and employment gap costs are far more impacts on your savings, 30 L of arming person can save better than 120 k in USA

This is not true, person living in Florida does not pay 3.2lkh in rent. And makes more than 100k. Also consider husband and wife earning together. You can easily draw 15k dollars monthly and sent 5k monthly expenses in tier two cities.
