Maybe you remember that you also listened to Nine Blades in an earlier video.
Sixteen Strikes is pretty much Nine Blades the Sequel. When one of them plays in battle, it can shift over to the other one depending on how things are faring.
If the battle has switched over in your favour, the horn part at the very start of this song starts playing to tell you that the balance has shifted.

The perspective the player has in the game is a top down view, which is very typical for old school RPG's and strategy games. Which is handy so that you get a better view of what is going on.
But it won't give you as much of a grounded view on your surroundings, so the music really has to do a lot to describe the mood and the environment for you.
