You are so much better than my lecturer, and you explained the basics very well!

I learned so much in such a short time. Thank you

Should not the current be 50 amps? You are dividing 100 ma by 2 msec. Therefore the units cancel out. Therefore the voltage for region I should be 100 volts.

Hello Michal!

Chapter 6 Lecture 16 you skipped D the time interval, ((2-5ms)^2)/2. = 4.5ms not 3ms in your equation, making solution as Thank You for All Your Work!

The resultant voltage due to a ramp current is what I was searching for. Superb numerical explanation.

AND what would the shape of the resultant voltage graph?

For the second region, initial value of voltage is not zero....

what i do is, since integration is basically area under curve, for first section area of triangle / c, second part area of rectangle /c, much faster approach

sir thankyou very much it helped me alot.thankyou so much

The answer should be: Region 1= 100v; Region 2= 300v so Vtotal=100+300= 400volts. Thank you.

Professor, I suppose we didn't need to do the whole integration part (in this specific question) as we have a regular figure of straight lines . We have a right triangle and a rectangle . Won't the summation of their areas be our answer.

I think the second part should be 300V, because it has just 't' instead of 't^2'

I believe the units are wrong. Region I: (50mA/msec) *(2 msec)^2 /(2 * 1 micro Farad) = 100* mA *ms/ micro Farad = 100 Amp *sec/Farad = 100 volt not 100 mV Region II: (100 mA * 3 msec)/( 1 microfarad) = 300 Amp -sec/farad = 300 volt not 300 mV

Sir, Can I use area under the graph of i-t to find the same values of voltage?

Thanks.

Hi! Mr van biezen, good lecture why is t squared?

Sir, how is (100*10^-3)/(2*10^-3) not equal 50.

Thank you
Kind Regards

The question is asking for currents and we found voltages! what do these voltages represent exactly?

how did you get 100mV sir in my calculation its 100V? thanks. :)

I think the result should be 400V not 400mV 🙂🙂
