You might see two young people here.

But one of these things is not like the other.

There are two types of American millennials, and the difference between them has nothing to do with age.

It all has to do with life milestones.

Take it from consultant and millennial researcher, Jason Dorsey.

Dorsey tells Business Insider that in one group, you have those who feel behind in their career and finances and might feel lost in life.

These are me-llennials or the late bloomers.

Rising living costs, more student debt and a tough job market after the recession aren’t part of a recipe for successful wealth building.

It’s no wonder many millennials feel financially behind.

For what it’s worth, Dorsey thinks these folks will be “just fine.”

On the flip side, mega-llennials don’t feel like they fit this narrative.

Mega-llennials feel like they’re moving forward financially and professionally, and that they don’t fit the negative stereotypes tied to their generation.

Mainly that millennials are entitled, spoiled or distracted.

The last part is especially important.

NBC News contributors say the number one mistake young people make at work is being glued to their phones.
