After three straight years in which trade has doubled between the United States and Algeria, the U.S.-Algeria Strategic Dialogue offers an opportunity to not only expand economic cooperation between the two countries, but facilitate further coordination on a multitude of bilateral, regional and international issues. U.S. Ambassador to Algeria Elizabeth Aubin and Secretary General of the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Lounes Magramane discuss how the two countries are working to address instability in the Sahel — including Algeria’s offer to mediate the crisis in Niger — as well as how Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has affected bilateral relations.
