Introduction: Trigonometry is the branch of mathematics. The word trigonometry is derived from the Greek words 'tri' (meaning three), 'gon' (meaning sides) & 'metron' (meaning measure). So, trigonometry is the study of relationships between the sides & angles of a triangle.

Topics to be studied in Trigonometry chapter are :

1. Trigonometric Ratios : Here you will study some ratios of the sides of a right triangle with respect to it's acute angles, called trigonometric ratios of the angle.

2. Trigonometric Ratios of Some Specific Angles: In this, you will learn to find the values of the trigonometric ratios for some specific angles like degrees of 0,30,45,60 etc.

3. Trigonometric Ratios of Complementary Angles: In this the concept of Complementary Angles will be used. The 2 angles are said to be Complementary if their sum equals 90 degree.

4. Trigonometric Identities: An equation is called an identity when it is true for all values of the variables involved. Similarly, an equation involving trigonometric ratios of an angle is called a trigonometric identify, if it is true for all values of the angle (s) involved.

5. Applications of Trigonometry (Height & Distance): In this you will learn that how trigonometry is used in the life around us. The important topics under this are - Line of sight, Angle of elevation, Angle of depression etc.
