I love both shoes, but purely running I’d go with the ZF6, I ran a marathon and did all my long run training (20+ miles) with the ZF6. I love running in the EVO Sl as well, fun shoe, but if I had a choice to train for marathon training I’d go with the ZF6.

Have both and TBH, I did not get the EVO SL. It is quite mediocre to me (and only in my experience). I prefer something like a Puma Deviate 2 over the EVO SL as DN2 is closer to ground, and more stable in faster pace. ZF6 on the other hand, has a place in long run (for me 16-22km) as it is really good at maintaining speed and rhythm for a long period of time.

I have both.
The zoom fly 6 came first. I liked it, straight out the box. It was very comfortable. A slight pop. But I couldn't get decent speed out of them. I couldn't really feel the plate.
When the Evo sl arrived, I instantly preferred them, much nicer bounce. Outstanding foam. Lovely rocker position. Exciting, it was the shoe i was looking for, for faster tempos.
The laces are rubbish on Evo and stupid tonge slides at bit but small trade off for fun foam.
I now mainly use zoomfly 6 for easy runs. Zoomfly 6 more comfy than say asiscs gel nimbus 26.

Haven't run in ZF6 but agree 💯 with your assessment of where adidas missed with the Evo SL Nice foam and geometry but sloppy upper, mediocre outsole suitable only for flat pavement, unstable. I actually think the SL2 is a better shoe.

I just have 3 shoes and 2 of them are these shoes. ZOOMFLY 6 and evo SL. I use zoom for long run and evo for daily training. Both great s hi oes

Fanboys shouldn't do comparisons. The bias is palpable.

Define "short" and "long" runs.

Great Review! I totally agree!
Have both shoes in the same colourways.
I think the midsole of the evo sl is way more exciting, it’s bouncy and fun to run in. But the issue with the stability and the fit makes it for me impossible to run long in it. I pronate on one food only, so my right foot enjoyed the foam but my left foot can’t handle it.
I have narrow feet, and the upper of the evo sl ist too roomy for me. I tried in store half a size smaller, and it was to short. I hope they fix it in the next version. I also have the adios 9 and it‘s upper is so dialed in, I don’t understand why they couldn’t do the same with the evo sl.

The zoom fly 6 is fun to run in. My problem with it is that I run the majority of my runs on the tread, and they are very slippery on my tread. When it gets warmer and I start running outdoors more I hope to enjoy the good traction.

I need the runners knot in both shoes, otherwise I don’t get a good heel lockdown. But the laces of the zoom fly 6 are almost too short for that.

A shoe that doesn’t have stability or fit problem for me is the Mach 6.
