If you’re going to do scrambled eggs, put a funnel in a soda bottle, break your eggs into the bottle. That way you can just throw it in the cooler and when you’re ready just shake it and pour into the pan. You can even put you seasonings in too. That way you don’t have broken eggs and you save on room.

As a very experienced camp mom.. here is a few easy recipes..
Wrap breakfast burritos in aluminum foil heat them over the fire
Sugar ice cream cones
Stuffed with miniature Marshmallow and chocolate chips
Hamburger foil packs
With diced potatoes and veggies over the fire..

My boys and I did our first not-in-the-back-yard camping trip 2 hours out of town with a group of friends a few years ago. My husband was out of the country on business, and the camping trip was planned before his business trip was, so I packed the kids and camping equipment up and we hit the road. It was the most empowering weekend for me, personally, because I set up our spot, just me and my 7 - and 9 year old sons. We got our spot set up way before the other 2 families where there were dads and more hands. The empowering part was knowing that I didn't lose myself being married and dependent on my husband to do the "manly" things. We inherently know this about ourselves, but if we don't exercise that muscle, we doubt ourselves. Your video brought back all the feel-good feels from that time. 😊

Not a commentator but one thing we did was take a fitted sheet to cover the whole table at night to keep dishes etc clean. Also an extra towel to lay on the end of the table as a place to drain dishes. We actually lived “ camped “ for 5 months in the summers, so our table was never empty.

Congrats on the maiden camping trip! You're doing great ladybug. It's only going to get easier as you get your dedicated camping totes or boxes and have some sort of inventory system in place such as List tape to the totes indicating contents etc... the thing that made it easiest for us was coming across dedicated cookware to take to the campsite so we did not have to ruin a good stuff at home.( with the exception of the cast iron we always took that The Griddle and the pan) but for nonstick skillet situations or heating up soup or having to simmer something we got thrift store pans and did not have to continually transfer pan from the kitchen to the tote and so forth. That way you don't have to spend your energy thinking about which equipment to take cuz it's already there and you can focus on having fun trying new and different recipes while camping! Since you have electricity at the campground you could bring your griddle and water only pancake mix for a special breakfast with bacon or sausage. It smells so good cooking outside, and tastes so much better when you’re camping. Then you could have burgers or whatever for dinner. We always brought a propane stove when there wasn’t power at the campsite.

Camping tip- make a tote with all your dedicated camping kitchen needs. Cups, knives, bowls, towels, et all, table cloths, (I like oil cloth @ Walmart by the yard, since there is no flannel and the kids can sit on it) I color code my camping stuff red so they don’t get mixed in with normal stuff. It is easy to throw in the dish washer when you get home and repack. It saves a lot of packing and thought time.

When you arrive at your camping spot. First thing, check the picnic table. Wood or concrete. Ask me how I know. Spiders like those cool areas. Check under the table on benches. Have fun.❤

You did great, camp the way that makes you happy. One of my best childhood memories is my mum making pancakes and eggs on the cast iron griddle on the open fire. I'm 62 now and mum has been gone over thirty years now. Continue to give your children joy.

instead of taking ice or ice packs just freeze several of your water bottles. your taking them anyway and no need to bring anything back. Freeze everything you can it will keep everything cold and thaw in the time you need it
