What are the reasons the SMITE community isn't moving over to SMITE 2?

especially nowadays i prefer playing games that are finished and, if i care, watching content on the ones that aren’t, it’s really nothing more than that for a lot of casual players im sure

Honest to goodness I think the biggest thing that has stopped the majority of my friends is the price point. They aren’t necessarily super keen on paying for the unfinished project only for it to be free later. I can totally understand that though.

I am playing smite 2. I like it. It helps that one of my favorite characters is already in it (Jing Wei). I enjoy the ways characters have been updated. The one thing i'm hopping tho is that they bring old persephone back. I think they should try some of these old designs again since every character is being slightly reworked but these kits might fit better in the game now.

I've never played alpha or beta versions of games I'm interested in playing, because I'm not interested in testing the game WHILE I'm playing it. I just want to play the finished product, so I'm waiting until the final version comes out. I am, however, making sure to keep up with all the updates as much as I can.

if you get 10 kill streak, you get a Recall to base. Nothing crazy but i think it would be cool.

I played 10k hours of Smite 1 since 2017 but nowadays I am too busy to play Smite 1/2. Smite 2 needs new fans of the franchise bc I am sure there are a bunch of people like me who played a ton of Smite in their late teens/early 20s but cant play it as much anymore bc of more responsibilities.

Poor matchmaking was my primary issue with the game and why i stopped playing, but I heard this got somewhat addressed so I might check it out again. I was just tired of getting matched against a full stack of 3k SR players while my highest is 1700 and lowest is clay players. Made no sense.

Since playing ymir since season 1. He feels waay better in smite 2. The game is improving immensely.

Just from the title alone at the moment, the lack of characters. At the moment I only have 2-3 characters I really enjoy playing in Smite 2, so it limits what I can do compared to the 20+ characters I enjoy in Smite 1. Once we get the full roaster and the game fully releases we should at least have maybe 5-10 characters I enjoy playing and I won't be so limited in what roles I play, given the 2-3 I play is Fenrir and 2 mid-lane mages, lol.

Ha, I remember replying to that.
For me, I'm just taking a break and playing other stuff atm. (Have been going thru my Vampire Survivors DLC for example.) Exception: Corrupted Arena - I'm basically planning my life around playing THAT mode. Next one is expected to arrive in two weeks...
And sometimes I just feel like playing Assault or Tiamat or something and then it's easier jo jump in S1.
I'm a fickle being, but I expect to be there posthaste then even the _rudimentariest_ of Assault modes get in, gotta get the feedback in!

Before watching the video the simple answer to why I'm not playing smite 2 is
1. Fatigue of smite 1
2. Conquest and arena arnt my game modes
3.game graphic were a hot mess for a min which was a turn off, but I know they improved it alot but it still lingers in my mind when I think of it
4. Controller didn't feel right when I played release alpha so that also lingering
5. More busy with college, and more interest in other games

The god choices are what held me back for awhile. Out of my top 3 gods in each role, the only god in the game on S2 release was Thanatos. Now they’ve added Herc which isn’t in my top 3 junglers but at least feels like a proper jungler. Mordred is fun but underwhelming, he just doesn’t do enough damage. Often I play a game or two of S2 then I want to play Nem, Achilles, or a proper one shot mage like Scylla so I switch and play some S1. I’m happy with Hi-Rez’s improvements but it’s hard to dedicate more time to it when almost none of my favorite gods are in the game.

I played yesterday, I knew Hercules would be busted still, enemy had a Hercules solo while we had a nuwa. My competent team basically played a 3v5 and he was unkillable. I think I'll play after they adjust some stats and nerfs

Combat blink is not overpowered but my god does it make the dynamic of the game less fun if the enemy has it. It makes ganking a kukulkan with blink feel like im trying to hunt a charybdis.
