On "EWTN News Nightly" tonight: President Biden implores Americans to get vaccinated against Covid-19 as a new variant, Omicron, emerges. Now nations are scrambling to to keep Omicron at bay by installing travel bans. The U.S. is restricting visitors from more than a half-dozen countries including Botswana, Zimbabwe, and South Africa. Congress only has ten scheduled days left to finish a laundry list of must-pass bills before they are supposed to leave town on December 13. Democrats want several changes including state and local tax deduction caps, climate change programs and Medicare expansion. Republicans say pro-life provisions are a must and are working to include Hyde protections in the appropriations bill. Dennis Ross, Director of the American Center for Political Leadership at Southeastern University and former Representative, joins us to provide his insight. With the first Sunday of Advent behind us, the liturgical season of preparing for Christmas is well underway. We're joined by Father Cristian Mendoza and Father Dave Pivonka to discuss the importance of Advent, its origins, how St. Joseph can serve as a role model, and how we can make the Eucharist more central in our lives during the Advent season.
