So you might remember last year I used my first iPhone in more than a decade, going from the open world of Android to Apple's walled garden. And while using other Android phones throughout 2023, I've always kept my #iPhone14Pro close by.

It's been a big learning experience as I've used both the iPhone 14 Pro and #iPhone14ProMax alongside the likes of the Pixel 7 Pro, Galaxy 23 Ultra and Oppo Find X6 Pro. So this is my long-term #review of using Apple's leading iPhones alongside the best Android has to offer!

I used to be an android lover all throughout highschool and shortly after but for the last couple years I’ve been an iPhone guy. iPhone is just simpler to use and has caused me less problems than android has. At the end of the day just use whatever you prefer, it’s just a phone.

Long time Android user here and a couple of days ago I bought my first iPhone, I went for the 14 Pro Max and so far so good. I miss the extreme customization but the software experience is amazing!

As i always say whether you move to the latest android or the latest iphone you wont "regret" it. Because phones have become good enough for everyone

What really annoys me is people who move from a phone released in 2017 or something and move to the latest phone of the other OS and say that it was the best decision ever or they dont regret switching and wont switch back. Bro the phone you were using was five years old what did you expect 😂

Unless you are dead set on being a fanboy of a brand (which many people are), you will be able to use any other phones without any problem and there would always be a learning curve to using a new OS

I wish it had a clipboard just like on Google Keyboard where you have all your saved sentences ready to paste.

In my experience the 14 pro max last just as long as the 13 pro max and that’s with the aod and brighter screen so I give the 14pm the battery had mine for about 4 months so far I’m satisfied

Last year, I went from the iPhone 7 to the XS, while my kids went from the X to the green 13 Pro. I'm really not a fan of the weight of their phone.
I'll probably stay with XS until Apple stops giving it the latest iOS - thankfully, not this year - at which point I'm seriously considering swapping to a 13 Mini. It'll most likely be 2nd hand, but I really can't see Apple reintroducing a Mini - unless the next SE uses the discontinued size.
Thanks for the vid!

I have had my 14 pro max for a few months now and I love it. I average a bit over 2 days per charge and I think the camera is a good step up from the 11 pro max it replaced.

I swore i would never buy an iphone until early 2021 when my note 20 ultra broke and i tried a 12 pro max. Now im madly in love with iphone and have a 14 pro max. Yes i use android also for certain work which is tab s8 plus. But the stability and longevity of the iphone is unbeatable ❤

I have a 13 Pro Max and a Pixel 6a; the Pixel is a ridiculously good phone for the cash, (I paid £199 brand new after discounts) but its build is really weedy. I dropped both phones simultaneously by accident from about half a metre onto a concrete floor and the Pixel smashed both its screen and back, and the iPhone was undamaged. I am looking forward to getting the iPhone 15 this year though.

I’ve had my 14 Pro for about 6 months now, the software has improved over the past few months. I’m averaging around 2 days between charges with my usage making this the best battery life I’ve ever seen in a phone

I've been using android since the days when everyone used to call the android versions by their names taken from snacks and desserts (anyone remember android ice cream sandwich?), but recently I've been tempted to switch over to an iPhone. I love how the android world always came out with the latest exciting innovations but recently the focus has shifted towards folding phones and better camera tech which I personally don't care much about. At the end of the day I'm searching for a slab that can do everything I need, and do it well, and with how close the flagship market has become it feels more and more logical to switch to the iPhone that does everything I need well enough to be used as the modern benchmark. Gonna wait for the iPhone 15 before I make up my mind.

This is the kind of review I was looking for. I'm not a camera person, but I am someone who wants consistency and stability instead fancy you features which is why I have my eye on trying out an iPhone. I do worry that it will be similar to my experience using a MacBook for 4 years. I enjoyed everything but it felt like it was trying to keep me in an ecosystem i had no interest in. However, it was the most reliable laptop I ever had which makes me want to try out iphone because i just want an all rounder. I'm thinking of getting a pro because of the performance and refresh rate. But my sisters regular 14 seems to have all the stuff I like. Now with the iphone 15 having usb-c has me very keen to save up for one.

I would be happy with either. I have been on my iPhone and I am happy. There aren't many huge differences and there isn't really much of the Apple ecosystem lock-in that people talk about, there are plenty of third-party services that work cross-platform. I feel we have reached peak smartphones now and the things that differentiate them are marginal. One area where I feel like iPhone does have the edge is the almost guaranteed support for devices to get the latest iOS updates for 5+ years. People criticise Apple for planned obsolescence, but I see lots of people still using devices like the iPhone 5. Sure, the battery life is terrible (of course it is, the phone is over 10 years old), but it still works.

Only reason im planning to switch to ios when the iphone 15 come out is because andriod gets really buggy and unstable at times the iphones finally looking like a modern smartphone over the past few years with their tech improvements and they're switching to type -c i also tend to keep my phones for about 5 to 6 years based on whats available
