"The Picture of Dorian Gray" was one of my favorite books (and the movie, which I saw first, and as usual the movie can't hold a candle to the book, ) Thank you for posting this!!

What I did was mute the sound and play instrumental music instead; for me, Godspeed! You Black Emperor.

This is when one sees the external reality of Beauty but when the internal Beauty manifests itself to the inner eye, what happens? What mirth what joy fills the being of the viewer. The feats of heart are really consuming. One needs to cultivate one's heart!

I know it may sound dull for british people, but for foreigners it's very useful specially for phonetics and entonation

I'm currently listening to a Naxos recording of this book which I'd say was better but the acting in this recording sounds good. I'm not sure why there are so many comments to the contrary. I'm British too so am more sensitive to bad British accents.

Dorian's voice is hilarious. The narrator is great though

He sounds like someone who would do the voice of a old professor in a cheesy RPG.

The voices are like those you would hear on a recording of a children's book... :(:( I think I heard the same voice (the first person) reading "Arthur the Aardvark"... O.o

THE WOMEN. The Duchess speaks like a kid on a sugar rush and Agatha is what? Chinese? I can't understand a word she says.
