Is Dr Ratio An Overall Good Reward? | Honkai Star Rail

Im sure by now most of you would have gotten the free gift hoyoverse has mailed to each honkai star rail player. In the past most gifts revolved around warp tickets, summons or stellar jades but this time around we got something unexpected, the 5 star character Dr Ratio. Now it goes without saying that a 5 star character is clearly an amazing gift but I wanted to discuss this topic a bit more as there are a bunch of other videos we couldve potentially gotten and some of you may not have wanted this particular 5 star

So in this video were going to examine these alternatives and see whether Dr Ratio was an overall good reward? This is mostly just an open discussion and an opinion so dont take what im saying as an immutable rule or anything.

I didn't even know that dr ratio existed as a character until the livestream, and I then tried him out in his quest and he was super fun to play. Now he alongside blade is the only character I have fully invested in and it was completely worth it. He is such a great unit.

Personally I don’t use dr ratio but I think it was still the best outcome because of everyone’s hilarious reactions to it 😂

Based on the loose criteria we're working in this video, that being a reward that's both practical to give out and also useful to both new and veteran player's, I think getting a free 5 Star character is about as good as it gets. Depending on 'how' new they are, Ratio could easily be any given player's first or second 5 Star, and him being a damage dealer in a rare damage type is tremendous value. For Veterans, Ratio brings a solid and reliable kit to the field that allows him to be built in a variety of viable ways. In perfect honesty, I'm struggling to think of a better possible reward.

I'd say it's the best possible outcome among those you listed with the possible exception of the 90 jades. Then again, I'd have pulled for him anyway, so it's nice not having to worry about 50/50.

he is in my speedrun SU team with himeko and ruan mei, so fun to see they followup one another
after having him I can beat MOC11, maybe 12 after sparkle release!

I haven’t even touched him and I don’t plan on using him anytime soon. I will likely work on him once I have built up the characters I actually like.

I'm happy with Dr. Ratio, I badly needed an imaginary dps. That being said, I would have been ok with a free standard banner character, since they are all pretty good

The majority of hoyoverse players play to get new characters, some even summon on every banner as long they have the jades/primos because playing with different and especially new characters are fun (it’s like getting a new toy) so even if u don’t care about dr ratio right now u might get bored with your current characters and want to try a different gameplay so having him for free is a win to everyone. Personally i want to pull for him i’m glad i got him for free so i can get his lc instead and have him very nicely build 🥰

I use him almost all the time. I only had Yukong for imaginary element, and she was free too! Had bad luck for DHIL and Luocha, and I didnt want Welt yet.

As a veteran player, I'd 100% want the 5* standard selector over Ratio. 1 step closer to e6 Himeko or e6 Welt, baby.
