The stage is set for the high-decibel Gujarat Assembly polls. The Election Commission has announced that the polling in Gujarat will be held in two phases. 89 seats will go to the polls on December 1, while voting on 93 seats will take place on December 5. The counting of votes will take place on December 8. Stakes are high for the BJP, which has been in power for 27 years and is seeking to retain power for the 7th time. However, with the entry of the Aam Aadmi Party, the contest has become three-way between the BJP, AAP, and Congress. Meanwhile, several opinion polls have predicted the victory of the BJP.
