Both books are compelling and totally absorbing. As a cis white north-american (Canadian) I was fascinated with both Darius’ iranian journey into his roots but also into his current struggles in his adopted country and teen anxieties. Adib Khorram’s books are not about folkloric/ethnic/religious differences, but portray universal coming-of-age issues. Not to be missed either is his latest book, *Kiss & Tell*, which also has an iranian heritage subtext within a totally western cultural phenomenon. He is definitely one of my favourite queer YA authors.

Awww, this was so sweet. When you teared up, I teared up! What's really funny is that I just picked up the book a day ago but I'm going through a bit of a slump because I just finished a 1500 page book. But now that I saw this video, I want to restart the book with a new vigour!

Hello....I'm trying to figure out the relationship between Grandma and Oma. Which one was actually Stephen's biological mother?
Also, he mentioned one of them going through a transition. Was one transgenderd turning into a man?
I couldn't quite figure it out.
