• IN SAP ECC version data has been stored in ROWS wise in TABLES.
• IN S4 HANA version data has been stored in COLUMNS wise in TABLES.
TYPES OF DATA IN SAP :
Three types of Data available in SAP.
1. Transactional Data (Transport request not generated)
2. Master Data (Transport request not generated)
3. Configurational Data (Transport request will be generated)
4. Programming Data

1. TRANSACTIONAL DATA: Day to day transactions. In SAP Easy Access Screen, we can post any document entry. It is nothing but Transactional Data.
Ex: GL Entry Posting,
GL Entry Clearing
Vendor invoice posting
Vendor Invoice Clearing
Customer Invoice Posting
Customer Invoice Clearing

2. MASTER DATA: In the SAP Easy Access Screen, we can create any master data, it is called Master Data.
Ex: GL Account Creation
Vendor Master Data Creation
Customer Master Data Creation
Asset Master Data Creation

3. CONFIGURATIONAL DATA: In the SPRO Screen, we will do the different types of configurations based on the client requirement. It is nothing but Configurational Data.
Ex: Company Code Configurations.

HOW MANY TYPES OF CONFIGURATIONS IN SAP ??
There are three types of configurations in SAP.
1. Customized Configurations
2. Client Specific Configurations
3. Copying Configurations

1. CUSTOMIZED CONFIGURATIONS (70%) : It is depending on the client requirement. Based on the blueprint we will configure the customized configurations.
2. CLIENT SPECIFIC CONFIGURATIONS (15%): Client Specific Configurations are nothing but standard configurations.
Ex: Document Types (SA, DR, DA, DZ, KR, KA KZ, AA..ETC)…System defined configurations.
Fiscal Year Variant (V3 & K4 Variant) T-OB29, Leading Ledger (0L).
3. COPYING THINGS CONFIGURATIONS (15%): It is nothing but whatever things we are copied from the standard configurations.
Ex: Fiscal Year Variant (OB29), Field Status Variant (OBC4), Leading Ledger to Non-Leading Ledger
HOW MANY TYPES OF MESSAGES IN SAP??
There are 4 types of messages in SAP.
1. GREEN MESSAGE: It means data was saved. It means your activity/configuration was successful.
Ex: Vendor Creation, Vendor Posting, GL Creation, GL posting.

2. YELLOW MESSAGE: It is like a warning message. You can agree this message and move forward.
Ex: Retained Earnings: OB53, Assign Fiscal year variant: OB37 (when few people not assigned their fiscal year variant to their company code)

3. RED MESSAGE: It is called error message. Wrong Configurations. We can go and recheck the configurations.
Ex: Tolerance Group Error

4. BLUE MESSAGE: It is called just for information.
Ex: Correct the marked line items(when we simulate this message will appear)
*WHAT IS MEAN BY SAND BOX SERVER ??
Sand Box server is nothing but Practice or Trail purpose in the real time projects. First, we will implement the any type of configurations in the Sand Box Server. Once all the configurations are correct/successful then we will implement in the Development Server in the Real Time.
