Let’s dig in detail:
For the 24 X5 40i:
1. Missing curve adaptive headlights, matrix functionality disabled d/t US regulations. Activated in Canada I believe. In the States, You are left with a weird non moving illumination pattern.
2. Mild hybrid sounds fancy but worsened the former great ZF 8 speed. Downshifting and engine breaking not great anymore.
3. Integrated climate controls into infotainment iDrive 8.5. You get used to it but every step takes 3-4 steps now instead of 1. Yes voice command but for quick 10-15 min drives I don’t want to give 5 voice commands.
4. Great B58 engine, but X5 doesn’t hug windy hilly country roads like the MDX or Cayenne. You feel like sitting on top instead of inside the vehicle.
Overall the X5 still presents a good package but for the price delta the driving experience is starting to be questioned with commodity brands like Kia stepping up in quality and luxury features. The M version with 8 cylinder is the unique option setting it apart but you pay the price.

I like X5. Its smooth and powerful engine, handling and sporty feeling. But I hate the new headlight design. I miss BMW angel eyes headlights. I think X5 2014-2019 was way better looking car overall.

David, beautiful BMW. The wheels and tires look very large, it probably corners very well.
