I just bought this exact foam glider from a toy shop for £3 with this idea in mind...Looks like someone else had the same idea...Thanks for sharing

These things make great cheap conversions! Not a bad build there. The XT60 is a bit of overkill at this size though and we prefer to keep the battery separated from the electronics. If you can slot it in under the COG it allows for different batteries without shifting the balance and saves all the scrunching of wires to get the lid on. 😉

I'm impressed with how legit these turn out. Might have to try this for a beater idgaf about! Don't have any electronics that small, but they're so cheap at that size... never noticed before how much they look like a pylon racer!!

Great job! I thought the tape would peel in those high-speed maneuvers, but it held together!

Awesome bro. I got this for my son but never imagined it could be turned into this.

Nice. I bought one like this ready to fly. Very easy to lose control of it. Needs to be flown in very little wind, less than 5 mph.

Weight is king with these mods. My conversion, a MPX Fox with wingspan of 500 mm weights 64 g. At that weight its a docile flyer for indoor and outdoor. Above 75 g the bird has a nasty tip stall. My components: 10 g brushless motor, 6A Turnigy ESC, 4ch Orange RX, 2s200 mAh lipo, 2 2.7 g Servos. All servo cables replaced by copper wire, all connectors except battery removed and soldered directly. Battery connector 2 mm aluminum, gold plated.

See description for the parts I used. Please note that this is not really a beginner project and I just did this for fun as a more experienced pilot.

Well done. Its not easy to get everything right. Down and right thrust angle. Center of gravity and Isolate the nose glue from from the motor heat. It looks like you nailed it all from how nice and smooth it is flying. I guess its not your first time to make something like this. I have just ordered a mini receiver board with servos and gyro stabilizing (spare part for mini warbird) to try it on the same toy glider as you have there. But i am going to use a S-Bus receiver Connected i addition so i have the possibility to use a brushless motor.

This is really great. Just do it instead of overthinking stuff. You can then improve things you don't like, about the first make, later.

Yo hice el mismo avión de la misma manera y vuela muy bien.
Solo que al mio le puse una viga de fibra de carbono en el Ala.
