I totally disagree on a physical redesign of the Mac Mini. The form factor has been worked into a complete ecosystem of peripherals, rack mounting hardware, expansion docks, etc. that would likely be obsoleted by a physical change. The form factor works, don't fix what isn't broken.

one thing to remember about the Mac mini is that there are schools and businesses that have racks/mounts to hold many of the Mac minis in the server room or as part of their workstations. If they change the shape of the Mini it would mean they would need to buy new racks. Maybe keep the shape and add a glass top or a vent design.

If i was in the market for a desk top I think I would hold out for thje studio.I am considering Ipad.I like its understated look.😐

the mini doesn't need a redesign its literally perfect and is super sleek. and minimal which is great so its not an eye sort when working.

glad for this surprise release. The Mac mini pro is actually what would fit my video editing workflow. The Studio was too much for me, but having 4 lightning connections and 100 gb network card along with the decoding added in the M2 would speed up my work from my M1 Mac mini.

Would be interested to see how the battery life of the 14” MBP compares to the previous one. That was one of the big reasons that I went with the 16”.

For what the device is, the Mac Mini DOESN'T need a redesign. The footprint Apple Silicon takes up in that enclosure is almost negligible compared to its Intel counterpart. As long as it can stay quiet or regulate its temps well with the included cooler that's 1/3 the size of the Mac Studio's fan, I think the consumers this is for will be happy with it - including me.

As for the colours on the MacBook Pros, I have to agree with you there. Silver and Space Grey looks dated compared to the always-revolving colours of the iPhone. Give me that Deep Purple or a Pacific Blue on a MacBook Pro and I'll be the first in line for that.

I love the M2 Max MacBook Pro. If you want the most power and thermal performance get the 16”, and if portability and convenience are your thing you have the 14”. Love both but I roll with the 16” as my daily driver.

Didnt realize they were being released so soon. I was just reading reports about them being delayed again. I was about to leave my house and buy an m2 air to hold me over until the m3 (3nm?) chip MB pros were released. It's tempting to jump pickup the m2 pro now.
