Peter did a really good job as the doctor

Such a criminally underappreciated series. Loved Peter as The Doctor

Matt regenerating in to Peter was the first and last episode of Doctor Who I got to watch with my mom before she passed away. I grew up in The States and would watch all the Classic Who episodes when they played on PBS. I absolutely adored the show. When it came back I didn’t give it the time of day because it just didn’t feel right. Then, one day when I was home alone for a weekend they did a marathon of Matt Smiths episodes and I absolutely fell in love. I went back and watched all of New Who and fell in love with it.

Then, my mom got really sick and we’d drive back and forth for her Doctors visits and she’d sit there and listen to me talk about how amazing the show was and how much I loved it. When they announced Matt was leaving I was absolutely devastated. I remember the lead up to Peters announcement and all the names that were getting the most recognition and none of them felt right. Then, they did the special where they announced Peter right before the 50th. They said his name, he walked out, with his hands in his vest just like William Hartnell and I just remember thinking, “That’s HIM! That’s THE Doctor! That’s MY Doctor!” And he was.

That Christmas, my mom made sure that everyone in my family sat down and watched Matt’s last episode. During breaks she’d ask questions and did her best to get caught up and understand 50 years of lore in 1 episode. Then, when Matt gave his speech both she and I were crying our eyes out. When Matt dropped the bow tie and sneezed in to Peter, she cheered with me.

Nobody else got it. Nobody understood it. But my mom saw how much it meant to me and wanted to share in that with me and in that moment Peter became my and my moms Doctor. She passed away 6 months later, to the day.

I wish I could’ve shared more of my love of it with her but I’ll always be grateful that she cared enough to love it in the moment because I loved it. Peter Capaldi was the perfect marriage of Classic and New and Doctor Who is better off because of the effort and passion he put in.

I just realized that the doctor said to clara "I remember you, you are handles" means that handles could be one of the claras going through the doctor's timeline that got turned into a cyberman

I used to hate series 8 but I rewatched it last year and I love it now. I think Danny is so underrated along with the series finale.

❤series 7 parallel galaxy problems. Breaking thru the earths crust. Even Brigadier was tripping. And bugging out.

I enjoyed Capaldi as the Doctor, but hated the post-regeneration "amnesia". And Clara's reaction was completely out of character. They got better, though.
Missy was delicious.
