If anyone from EGM reads this, through the adult swim app on my tv 5 or so years ago I discovered a video from you guys called "EGM 2007 Game of the Year Awards".

It was fucking phenomenal, a true time capsule to an era now gone. It was a low budget looking video, but it was absolutely OOZING with heart. It represented the video game/internet culture of that time better than maybe anything else I have ever seen. That video was a work of art and now its gone from the app. PLEASE upload that video to youtube. It deserves to be preserved.

.That SUSHI-X PIN THO!!! Tru story, I got my letter printed on the Envelope art contest with the Street Fighter and EGM crew together. I got a secret on MaNA OST (which I still have) and an EGM T-shirt and a appreciation letter as well from Sendai Publishing group. It was the Star Fox cover.

I still own about 40 printed edition of Electronic Gaming Monthly, and a dozen EGMs. Love this!

I had a subscription to EGM for many years in the 90s. Game Pro, and Nintendo Power were the big names, but I liked EGM's format more.

After the 2000s, I didn't renew my subscription because there wasn't any point any longer due to competition from online video game websites, but I still have a ton of nostalgia from reading those old magazines. I still own the vast majority of those mags!

Every discontinued video game magazine should be archived for free on the internet for game history preservation.

I still remember those massive tomes of gaming goodness. Getting to look at promotional art and blurry screenshots of new games and tech, and absolutely loving it. It's a shame print media of this type just doesn't work anymore because news is instantly available. If this came back it would have to basically be mostly interviews and deep dives into the industry/history of the industry.

Can't describe how happy this project makes me. When I was a kid it felt like an adventure to buy each issue of EGM. Where I lived it was very difficult to get one, so being a 13 year old and going store scouting was such a memorable moment. I assembled a crew of equally nerd friends and after tracking and buying one we would spend the day reading it through and eating junk food. We had it good... we had it good.

Although I live in Belgium (EU), EGM was my number 1 in video game magazines. I still have my original issues. I sometimes had to travel several kilometers for that because EGM was only in stores that sold special import magazines.
