I agree. The statue was a gift placed NEAR THE ISLAND that WELCOMED immigration. For hope and freedom. A safe place. We took in those that were turned away from others, even those sick we welcomed; and basically shaped a looot of our culture today. We are close minded now. A helping hand is a joke or clout.

Did the USA ever say thank you for the help they got during the American Revolution? France also gave the USA the Louisiana Purchase. One of the greatest gifts they gave to a fledgling and growing country.

France did take an L in the second World War, however French Partisans never gave up the fight. To end the war, it was a team effort. The United States could have not defeated the Axis without any help.

The US did helped France avoiding speaking German. But The US is starting to speak Russian and 1930s German recently.
