I’m only gonna tell you about the beaches close to Palermo because:

(a) most tourists spend the majority of their time in and around our capital.

(b) If I tried to tell you about all our wonderful beaches, I would be typing away night and day for a week.

Thank you for the advice. We’ll be going to Sicily for 2 weeks in September and will be staying in Palermo for the last 2 nights. I’m listening to your videos and very much looking forward to seeing this beautiful city. Thank you 🙏🏼

for a solo traveller to mondello beach, how can one make their belongings safety? rather then keep the stuff on beach alone, while gone for a swim

Would be nice to know who owns the private areas and who has sold these areas to whom.

Nico kind of makes it sound quite 'Scary' in a way. I've just been there with my wife and it was great. I think you just have to be aware of your surroundings and act accordingly, might help though that I grew up in a rough place in the UK and perhaps if you're a bit posh and naïve - then perhaps his warnings have some validity?

What other beaches are there apart from Mondello

Public transportation is not too bad if you take shuttle from the airport to the city of Palermo (€6, 30 mins) or train to Cefalu (€6.80/50mins). But to Mondello by bus… mamma Mia! Terrible. Mondello beach is nicer than Cefalu, but Cefalu has better restaurants and shopping. To Mondello you have to take two buses (101, 806, €1.40 / Abt 1 hour) plus some luck to fit in. Beach is crowded but otherwise beautiful.
