"King Aegon, we have won the battle!"
"Already? Has Rhaenyra surrendered?"
"Actually... did you know your uncle had Grayscale this whole time?"

I’ll never forget that scene with Sam and Jorah. The seamless transition from his cracked and oozing skin to the crust of the pot pie with forever be burned into my brain 😂😂

Targaryen Dragonriders can't get sick with any type of disease. Only those with no dragons can get sick. Viserys only got sick AFTER Balerion died.

Daemon literally brings out the Crabfeeder half decapitated body, Lmao. His such a badass.

If i recall, in the books, he was Prince Craghas of House Drahar, one of the ruling families of Myr. That’s why he was appointed temporary admiral-leader of the combined armies of a triarchy of free cities, and tasked with ridding Essos’ southwestern lands and adjacent isles from an alliance between another city and a company of pirates that were causing havoc in surrounding regions and seas. He considered pirates scum, so after his task was accomplished he ordered all the surviving ones staked to the shore to eventually drown, as a deterrent to any further adventurous criminals. His earned nickname was more of a cruel joke than anything literal. No habitual practice, no crab obsession, no grayscale. Just his following greed and consequential downfall.

but the targaryens with their magic blood are immune to any diseases.

The Targs have high disease resistance. Dany still haven't gotten the bloody flux yet in the books, meanwhile people are dying from just handling the corpses.

They really should have given us more time with Teen Laenor and Daemon fighting Crabfeeder. We needed more seasons with teens Rhaenyra and Alicent

Director Greg Yaitanes: "Daemon did not get greyscale, I made sure of that. He's actually holding him by his gauntlet". There we go, end of discussion.

I just realized, grey scale looks like scarlet rot from Elden Ring which GRRM cocreates.

I always wondered if grayscale was a manifestation of Targaryen blood gone wrong or a disease related to the dragon riders. The dragon eggs are stone until they being come soft flesh. Conversely, soft flesh slowly turns to stone. We know the Baratheons have Targaryen blood, so Stannis's daughter suffering makes sense.

The Crabfeeder is just a nickname, he looks and acts like a normal human in the book

I absolutely don't want to see this universe expanded any further because I think they're milking it far more than they should but I would love to see an idea like this where some sort of leprosy or grayscale type disease is ninety-nine percent fatal but it was originally invented as a form of natural armor spell and it got loose or something

The season ends YEARS after his encounter with the crab feeder if he was to get grayscale he would already be dead before Leana

There's in-world lore in the books saying that Targs can't get most illnesses. Now whether that is your average medieval idolatry or actual fact remains to be seen. I did wonder about it though when Daemon walks out covered in Crabfeeder's guts and blood, because to me, he clearly had greyscale. Let's see how the show deals with it (I hope it is addressed and is not one of those things that the show runners conveniently shove under the rug).

That would be cool to ad in future seasons, Him slowly realizing he has Greyscale and hiding it. Its not in Fire&Blood, but since its a in universe history book written after the events all took place, it likely would have been omitted anyway

Theres the thought that Targaryens can’t get grey scale due to their “dragon blood”.

The crab feeder was one of the coolest things in the show but was so short lived

Daemon having a good immune system as well as a Dragon may help with resisting it. He just got lucky
